Post-doctoral fellowship in investigative dermatology
A Post-doctoral position is available starting immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Irina Budunova at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, located in Chicago, IL. Position is supported by NIAID RO1 grant.
Our laboratory at the Department of Dermatology (one of the best Departments of Dermatology in US) has been involved in the development of novel safe approaches to the glucocorticoid receptor – targeting therapies to reduce notorious metabolic and atrophic side effects of glucocorticoids. As a member of our team, the applicant will have the opportunity to participate in work focused on the identification of specific molecular drivers of steroid-induced skin atrophy (we call them atrophogenes); search for the anti-atrophogenic compounds to develop skin protectors against steroids and ageing; and studies of molecular functions of already established atrophogene REDD1/DDIT4 in keratinocytes, adipocytes, and other skin cells and its interaction with steroid hormone receptors.
The applicant will use wide range of approaches: from molecular and cellular biology (including CRISPR/Cas9 gene targeting) to work with transgenic and KO mice to bioinformatics. Experience in molecular biology of steroid hormone receptors, skin biology, and bioinformatics analysis is a plus.
Interested individuals should send curriculum vitae and a list of three references in a single pdf to:
