Job Details

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at University of Toronto and the Division of Respirology and Lung Transplant Center at the University Health Network (UHN) are seeking to recruit a qualified Academic Transplant Respirologist for a Full-time Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with the academic position description of Clinician Investigator. The effective start date of the appointment is March 2,  2020 or as mutually agreed upon.

The successful candidate will have the appropriate experience or postgraduate training in lung transplantation, such that they will be able to be successful as an independent clinician and investigator in lung transplantation. The focus of their research programs should align with the Lung Transplant Center and the Division of Respirology at UHN and the University of Toronto. Formal training in clinical epidemiology or translational science are strengths.

The successful applicant must hold an MD and FRCPC qualifications in respiratory medicine (or equivalent specialist designation) and have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario by the CPSO. A graduate degree relevant to clinical epidemiology or translational science, and a proven record of excellence in clinical research are strong pre-requisites. Excellence in clinical research will be measured by research grants secured, publications in leading journals, awards and other related accomplishments.

Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Compensation will also depend upon the amount of clinical work performed but will be in the usual range for an experienced respirologist in the Province of Ontario at approximately $225,000 to $250,000 per year.
