DescriptionResponsible for effectively administering policies and procedures within the employee health and wellness program; including Workers Compensation, pre-employment and random drug screens, interacting with employees on a regular basis regarding their specific or general health and wellness concerns, and reporting required and requested information to various appropriate committees. Responsible for the coordination, development and reporting of institute-wide employee health-related issues and conducts education in- services related to health and safety in the workplace. Coordinates and manages FMLA and employee medical leaves. RequirementsEDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION: 1.ADN or BSN from an accredited College of Nursing, required2.BLS Certified3.Valid and current Arkansas state nursing license4.Valid Arkansas Drivers License (if travel is required)EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: 1.2 years of previous experience in employee health and wellness preferred.2.Maintain required number of continuing education units (CEUs) as specified by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing3.Excellent computer and other basic office equipment skills4.Expertise in IV therapy skills and injections5.Proficiency in infection control and safety procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.6.Knowledge of statistical data management and procedures related to the coordination of a Quality improvement program preferred.7.Experience with healthcare accreditation and quality improvement practices. Preference given to individuals with OSHA standards interpretation experience.Summary1.Maintains institutional compliance of all aspects of the employee health program including, but not limited to FMLA, employee injury investigating and reporting, employee safety and assistance with other infection control department duties2.Contributes to a positive and professional work climate and the overall team effort of the department and CARTI.3. Assists with coordinating institution-wide staff educational materials and services.4.Monitors employee training covering all aspects of employee health and safety in accordance with OSHA at initial hire, when standards or CARTIs policy changes and annually thereafter.5.Provide employee support for questions, concerns or problems that arises.6.Coordinates annual Flu shots for all employees with Director of Infection Controla.Arrange and/or assist all centers in obtaining flu vaccines for all employees annually.b.Maintains employee health and emergency records and updates annually.7.Conducts and maintains records on Fit testing/training.a. Documents and prepares report with follow-upb.Reports incidents and trends to the Director of Infection Control.c.Conducts or arranges any needed re-education due to the variance8.Maintains all employee health files in secure and private locations and adheres to Employee Privacy regulations and ensures compliance with all federal, state and local agencies.9.Assists and backs up with central sterile and all onsite screening areas10.Performs other duties as assigned.
