Transplant and Cellular Therapy Laboratory Director
The Levine Cancer Institute Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program within Atrium Health is a rapidly growing new transplant and cellular therapy program that has performed more than 600 autologous and allogeneic (matched sibling, MUD, and haploidentical) hematopoietic cell transplants since its inception in 2014 and offered CAR-T cell therapies since 2017. The Program is FACT accredited and the Laboratory also FACT accredited, CLIA compliant, and registered with the FDA.
We are seeking a scientist with a PhD degree in the Life Sciences with a minimum of 3 yrs. of experience in cell processing (PBSC, bone marrow, cord blood), generation of CAR-T cells for clinical application, cryopreservation, and flow cytometry. A minimum of 1 to 2 yrs. of supervisory or management experience in a cell therapy laboratory is desirable. The Director will oversee all technical aspects and operation of the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Laboratory which include processing, cryopreservation, storage release, and thawing of high-quality cellular therapy products including peripheral blood stem cells, bone marrow, umbilical cord blood, donor lymphocytes, and CAR-T cells. The Director will also develop new processes and procedures including in-house generation of CAR-T cells and ex vivo expansion of NK cells. Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work closely with the Laboratory Supervisor and a team comprised of physicians, nurses, transplant coordinators, apheresis staff, and lab technicians is essential.
