Applications are invited for a full-time tenured or tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in the Division of Prosthodontics at the University of Manitoba, Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dentistry.  The ideal candidate will have experience and ability in preclinical and clinical teaching and supervision of undergraduate dentistry students.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2020 or as soon thereafter as possible.

The Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry has invested in staff, equipment, and facilities at unprecedented levels in order to capitalize on new methods for educating students, residents, and practicing dentists. Primary responsibilities include didactic, pre-clinical and clinical instruction in the undergraduate programs with the possibility of teaching in the graduate prosthodontic program. Duties include development of curriculum following the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry competencies, expansion of our computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing systems program, supervision and teaching in the undergraduate dental clinic (general practice model), development of clinical research and related scholarly activities. Extramural private practice privilege is available one day per week upon signing of a Practice Agreement.

The successful applicant must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent. Preference may be given to individuals who have a certificate of Prosthodontics specialty from an accredited postgraduate prosthodontics program or demonstrate a strong interest in that field. Demonstrated practice experience and an established record in University teaching by the time of hire as well as a Master’s or PhD degree would be an asset. Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Manitoba and be either Board Eligible in Canada or be a Fellow in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada see www.rcdc.ca.
