The Department of Internal Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has an immediate opening for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiologist to join our Cardio- Oncology division.

The Cardio-Oncology team works closely with Roswell Park oncologists, surgeons and specialists in all aspects of cardio-oncology including assistance in determining appropriate types and doses of cancer chemotherapy and immunotherapy in patients with cardiac toxicity from cancer therapy or other cardiac diseases. The division supports inpatient and outpatient consultations, electrocardiogram (ECG), transthoracic echocardiography with LV strain imaging and transesophageal echocardiography.  Under the guidance of the cardio-oncology division, we plan to expand our services to include stress echo and nuclear stress testing.

A successful candidate shall be responsible for providing the above clinical support, conducting research with a focus on clinical cardio-oncology, and will provide education to cardiology and oncology fellows. In addition, the cardio-oncologist will be involved in the development of protocols which support evidenced based care, best practices, and patient satisfaction. This will include active participation in quality and performance improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, demonstrate excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills that will help promote and maintain strong collaborative relationships with other clinicians at Roswell Park.  Candidates must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York and ABIM board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases. Active ABIM certification in internal medicine a plus. ASCeXAM testimur status and/or extensive experience in echocardiography is required.  Preferred candidates will be BE/BC in Nuclear Cardiology and/or have completed a Cardio-Oncology fellowship. Although not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with prior research experience, publications and secured grants.
