Registered Nurse Pediatric Oncology Coordinator
Full Time
M-F 8-5
Provides clinical support to nursing staff and medical providers, providing care management to their entire panel of patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings at UMC. As the primary point of contact for complex outpatients, provides continuity of care through nursing assessments, triage, patient education and care coordination. Serves as an integral part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team which collaborates closely to provide the highest level of care for patients.
Education and Experience
-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
-Current RN licensure from Texas State Board of Nursing or holds a recognized
compact state licensure.
-Three (3) years of professional RN nursing experience.
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric Oncology nursing.
Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
-BLS
-PALS
-CPOHN certification preferred. Must obtain CPOHN certification within one
year of hire.
-Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledgeable in clinical and nursing standards and practice in accordance with the nursing scope and standards of practice by the American Nurses Association.
Special interest in scientific and technical activities for understanding and responding to nursing problems and concepts.
All nurses will be required to show current knowledge and clinical competence of the special skills required to give quality care to patients on their unit.
Age specific knowledge is required when needed for appropriate patients care.
