MEDIKO is seeking a site physician to join our diverse team of medical and mental health professionals. Our physician will provide independent primary care in a correctional setting to a specified population of non-emergency patients. This position will also provide consultation and advice to others.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Reports to assigned facility at designated hour to examine referred patients.
Conducts on-site sick calls and chronic care clinics.
Visits the infirmary when on-site and records encounters in the patient's progress notes, as applicable.
Ensures progress note documentation is in SOAP format, problem-oriented, corresponds to the therapeutic order and is dated, timed and legible. Reviews and countersigns therapeutic orders and corresponding progress notes of inmates seen by the PA/ARNP, if applicable, ensuring they are appropriate.
Utilizes available in-house resource personnel for treatment or resolution of identified problems before using off-site referral, if possible. Position Qualifications and Requirements:
Current licensure as a Physician within the state
Board-certified or is qualified within the state and regulations to practice medicine
Current CPR Certification
Current DEA number
Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health (Board Eligible or Certified) preferred What we Offer: (benefits vary based on FT, PT, or PRN status)
