Clinical Nurse
Short Stay Unit
3x12 hour shifts (Day/Night rotation)
The Short Stay Unit is a 12 bed observation unit here at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. The average stay is one overnight with the possibility of a second when indicated and we have a 4 to 1 patient to nurse ratio. We care for every adult population here at Dartmouth-Hitchcock with an emphasis on postsurgical care. Our specialty areas include cardiology, urology, oncology, gynecology, orthopedics and much more. This unit provides the new nurse ample opportunities to hone their fundamental nursing skills while utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, organize, and provide the best possible patient care.
This is a fast paced unit that works collaboratively with teamwork at the forefront to prepare patients for a timely and successful discharge to home. Currently this unit opens on Mondays at 11:00am and closes on Saturdays at 3:00pm.
Our schedule is aligned with the main OR and the unit is able to close on some observed holidays. If you enjoy working in a fast paced, team focused environment, please consider joining our Short Stay team!
Minimum Qualifications:
* AllAssociate Degree (ADN) prepared nurses must commit to completing a BSN orhigher nursing degree within 10 years of their hire date.

- Graduatefrom an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Bachelorof Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with 1 year of experience.
- AssociateDegree (ADN) prepared nurses with 2 years' experience.
* AllAssociate Degree (ADN) prepared nurses must commit to completing a BSN orhigher nursing degree within 10 years of their hire date.
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
- LicensedRegistered Nurse in New Hampshire required.
- BasicLife Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire and as applicable, higherlevel per unit certification requirements as stated on the grid attached to theAHA and Life Support Policy
- ACLSCertificate required upon hire in Endoscopy, Tele-ICU, Day Surgery Center atCGP (Manchester), Life Safety and Cardiology-Echocardiography
