Job Summary
Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.

Bliss 9 East is a 16 bed post open heart med surge unit offering a fast paced and dynamic environment suitable for nurses that enjoy learning and growing. Competencies gained in this arena include the care of specialty patient populations including heart transplant patients, Ventricular Assist Device patients, and the growing TAVR population. We offer additional opportunities to grow critical thinking skills and expand knowledge by training to our 9 bed step down unit that provides care to a variety of medical and surgical patients requiring higher levels of care.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License prior to Orientation.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).

• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to Orientation.
