ACADEMIC GENERAL SURGEON
VA BOSTON HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
The Division of general surgery at VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHCS) is seeking an academic general surgeon with expertise in robotic and minimally invasive surgery for both Hernia repair and Bariatric surgery.
Candidates must be comfortable with general surgery including acute care surgery and proficiency in upper GI endoscopy. Endoscopic stent/vac/suturing skills a plus, but not required.
The candidate is expected to practice the spectrum of general surgery in addition to robotic, minimally invasive hernia repair and bariatric surgery. The candidate is also expected to have research experience, be an effective role model, and serve as an educator to students and residents.
The candidate should possess the necessary clinical, research, and educational accomplishments to qualify for an academic appointment at the Instructor/Assistant/ Associate Professor level at one of our affiliates, Harvard Medical School (HMS) or Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM).
Applicants must be US citizens, possess American Board Certification, hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia and be proficient in spoken and written English.
The selected candidate for this position will be eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
