Overview

Role Purpose

Improves patients' lives by providing quality data to optimize clinical decision-making. The specialist will utilize knowledge from oncology and bone marrow transplant experiences to ensure clinical data and documentation meet the exceptional quality standards of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and academic partner Washington University School of Medicine. The specialist will report this data to external registries, perform internal queries, and provide expert knowledge during data audits.

Responsibilities
Submits high quality data to federal registries daily, maintains a good standing with regulatory bodies, and fulfills internal data queries.Analyzes and maintains data in database through direct entry, coordinates with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation, collaborates with research staff to collect and maintain research data, and participates in audits as subject matter expert.Collaborates with and educates internal team and external liaisons to ensure consistency in reporting and intent of data query.Maintains and develops quality improvement projects to grow and support the cancer program and identifies potential areas for professional growth and patient education.Assists in testing of transplant tracking software and performs other responsibilities as assigned.BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
