Job Summary
Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.

Hartford Hospital is a level-one trauma center and academic medical center, with substantial opportunities for professional experience and exposure.
North 10 is a 26 bed inpatient Telemetry Unit which is part of the Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital. Nurses on North 10 care primarily for patients diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome. Other patients cared for on North 10 include patient's pre and post Cardiac Catheterization; patients who are pre- operative open Heart Surgery; Congestive Heart Failure patients and other Cardiac patients requiring monitoring. The pace is professionally challenging and stimulating and a wonderful learning environment.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License prior to Orientation.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).

• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to Orientation.
