As a part of OptumCare, the largest network of medical groups in the nation, MedExpress is seeking a Full-Time Telehealth Independent Nurse Practitioner to join our team. At Optum, we are transforming healthcare nationally while providing Physician-led care locally.

Position Highlights:
  • 100% work from home (no onsite)
  • Hours of operation are 7a-11p, 7 days per week/365 days per year
  • Providers work 12-hour shifts any time in between 7a-11p
  • Full-time employment at 15 shifts per month, weekends included
  • Average patient load = 3-4 patients per hour
  • Provider will deliver telehealth primary and urgent care visits to patients of all ages in the following states: Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Arkansas
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Provides and manages remote patient care
    • Use audio and visual technology to complete patient examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans
    • Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information
    • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
    • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (MSN) and certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner certifying bodies (ANCC or AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner outside of clinical rotations in emergency medicine, urgent care, family medicine or ambulatory care setting required, preferred in the past 2 years
  • Experience in pediatric care within the past 2 years required
  • An unrestricted DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Ability to successfully qualify for and obtain unrestricted state licensure throughout the defined platform
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as an independent practitioner
  • Unrestricted active state licensure in Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Arkansas
  • Experience using audio/visual technology or video conferencing platforms

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
