Job DescriptionUnder the direction and supervision of the Director of the Tobacco Research and Treatment Center, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing smoking cessation support via telemedicine to our patients. This is an exciting opportunity for an NP who is interested in tobacco cessation treatment, seeking per diem, part time, fully remote position to join our brand-new tobacco cessation program within MGH.

Clinical responsibilities:
- Obtains a detailed, accurate health history and performs a comprehensive evaluation consistent with the virtual visit forum
- Performs detailed tobacco use intake, assessment and treatment planning utilizing motivational interviewing techniques
- Educates patients on smoking cessation strategies, behavioral modifications, and smoking cessation medications
- Prescribes smoking cessation medications as needed
- Writes complete and comprehensive notes on all patients using the EHR system by end of shift and ensures follow up patient care
Qualifications
- Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a registered nurse in the expanded role.
- Current professional certification in advanced practice nursing.
- Holds MSRC and DEA prescribing licenses.
