Annual salary 180k + Productivity bonus + Benefits. ""Ample time to evaluate patients"" Full time position.
Our conveniently located boutique urgent care in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn is currently seeking an experienced Full-Time dynamic and energetic Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner. The office offers a full spectrum of urgent care services.
The Nurse Practitioners responsibility include examining and diagnosing patients, prescribing medicines, and ordering diagnostic tests as needed. The Nurse Practitioner will work under the supervision of the physician with access to consult with physicians when necessary.
Responsibilities And Duties:
1. Perform physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non-urgent presentation.
2. Select, order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays as appropriate.
3. Analyze reports and findings of tests to diagnose patients.
4. Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury.
5. Refers patient to PCP or specialist as appropriate.
6. Document notes in EMR system, prepare reports, maintain records, and related correspondence of work.
7. IV placement skill preferred.
8. Ensures clinical practice compliance with Managed Care/HMO, Federal and State guidelines, facility guidelines, the Department of Health, and all other governmental agencies.
Qualifications:
1. Current license to practice medicine in New York State.
2. Two years clinical experience in an urgent care setting, emergency room or family practice office preferred.
3. Board Certified or Board Eligible.
4. DEA license with no restrictions.
Compensation:
1. Annual salary $180,000.
2. Bonus structure.

License:
1. NYS NP (Required).
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of medical coding.
2. Knowledge of the principles and practice of urgent care medicine.
3. Knowledge of the principles and practice of occupational health medicine.
Skills:
1. Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email, Microsoft Office and EMR software.
2. Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff and the public effectively.
3. Excellent customer service skills.
4. Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
5. Skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising.
