Provides wide range of health care services, including primary or specialty care, autonomously and in coordination with health care providers and other individuals. Educates patients, develops and evaluates care plans, and prescribes medications and treatments in support of patient health and well-being.
Principal duties:
Assesses, diagnoses, and treats minor illnesses, and manages chronic health problems
Develops, implements, collects data, and evaluates primary health care services as directed by individual care plans
Develops individualized care plans based on medical assessments in accordance with medical best practices and established rules and regulations
Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them
DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:
Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Masters in Nursing, or Nurse Practitioner
MINIMUM YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one year of experience in a mental health setting or three years of experience in Family Practice, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
Experience working with a young adult patient population or in a college health or mental health setting preferred. Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Masters in Nursing, or Nurse Practitioner, Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Masters in Nursing, or Nurse Practitioner
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Wisconsin to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber and must possess a DEA license
