Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, in partnership with Korn Ferry, announces a national search for the system’s Chief Quality and Value Officer.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH) is a non-profit academic health system primarily serving New Hampshire and Vermont as well as patients from across New England.  As the largest private health care employer and only academic health system in New Hampshire, D-HH is an integrated health care system comprised of providers and member health care organizations committed to providing the highest quality of care to the nearly 2 million community members throughout the region.  D-HH includes, Dartmouth- Hitchcock (D-H) comprised of D-HH’s flagship hospital Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (D-HMC) in Lebanon, New Hampshire and a multispecialty physician group practice, employing more than 1,500 physicians throughout New Hampshire and Vermont, with major community practice locations in Lebanon, Concord, Keene, Manchester, and Nashua, New Hampshire and Bennington, Vermont as well as through a network of smaller practice sites at over 24 locations throughout the region; Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (Lebanon, NH), Cheshire Medical Center (Keene, NH), Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (Windson, VT), New London Hospital (New London, NH) and the Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire (based in White River Junction, VT).  D-HMC serves as the teaching hospital and research partner for the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, offering 49 accredited medical education training programs to nearly 450 residents and fellows annually. Additionally, D-HMC serves as the teaching hospital for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Colby-Sawyer College and numerous other college and university health profession programs across New Hampshire and Vermont.  Led by CEO and President Joanne M. Conroy, MD, the leadership team is invested in an era of transformation and growth and is committed to patient care, innovation, research, service, and financial strength.

The system’s next Chief Quality and Value Officer (CQVO) is responsible for providing system wide leadership in the development and in the implementation of a comprehensive value measurement and improvement program and promotion of a culture of safety for both patients and employees.  Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer and reporting functionally to the D-H Value Committee of the Board of Trustees, the successful candidate will be a leader who manages and oversees the integration of safety, quality, patient experience and value / process improvement activities along with oversight of quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

In addition, the CQVO will work closely with other Chief Officers to identify organizational quality, safety, patient experience and value opportunities annually and will develop policies, programs, metrics, reporting, and accountability to aggressively implement improvement.  The CQVO leads the Value Institute Division.  Direct reports to the CQVO include the Vice President of Operational Excellence and the Associate System Chief Quality Officers leading Quality Assurance & Safety and Patient Experience.  The CQVO also provides leadership for governance committees overseeing quality, safety, patient experience and value.  These activities will include both priority setting and creating accountability through annual performance reviews.  The CQVO is also expected to provide opportunities for succession planning by developing leaders.
