POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP DEPARTMENT OF DERMATOLOGY
BRIGHAM AND WOMEN’S HOSPITAL
HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL
The Kupper laboratory in the Department of Dermatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston is seeking post-doctoral fellow. We have made several fundamental advances in the characterization of resident memory T cells (TRM) in murine models of infection. We are interested in how to optimize the generation of these cells in various tissues for purposes of vaccination. The developmental biology of these cells is also a major focus. Finally, because we believe that dysfunctional TRM underlie many autoimmune human disorders, we are interested in how these cells persist in tissue, and how they might be dislodged for therapeutic purposes. Our research utilizes both standard immunologic techniques (immunofluorescence/immunohistochemistry, microscopy, flow cytometry and sorting, in situ hybridization, western blot, etc) and novel technologies (high-throughput TCR sequencing, nanostring analysis, single cell RNAseq, multispectral labeling and imaging of tissue, and laser capture microscopy). We work with both human specimens and mouse models of disease.
Highly-motivated candidates with an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in Immunology or a related field are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should possess strong laboratory, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
The BWH Department of Dermatology is located in the Longwood Medical Area, which contains ten major institutions, including research-oriented hospitals, research institutes, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard School of Public Health, providing a rich training environment. Interested candidates should email a brief cover letter indicating their research interests and career goals, CV, and contact information for 3 references to:
