The McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) - Department of Internal Medicine, Divisions of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position to join a growing academic practice. Responsibilities include teaching, patient care and research. Candidate must be board certified/board eligible in Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and/or Sleep Medicine, and be eligible for licensure in State of Texas. Appointment will be at the non-tenure or tenure at the level of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, based on qualifications.

McGovern Medical School is the seventh largest and most diverse medical school in the United States, located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, with nearly 1,000 medical students and a similar number of residents and fellows.
The divisions of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine manage a multidisciplinary intensivist program at a 1300-bed level 1 trauma center and a 280-bed county level 3 trauma center, in addition to 3 other community hospitals. Inpatient services involve management of over 200 critical care beds in medical critical care, cardiac critical care, cardiovascular critical care and transplant critical care, which provide an excellent opportunity for teaching, clinical research and caring for diverse patient populations. There are 9 ambulatory practice locations in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine throughout the Houston area. The Division includes 30 Faculty members and supports 22 fellows in the Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship program, and 2 fellows in the Sleep Medicine fellowship program. Leadership opportunities within the division for senior faculty also exist.
Faculty are responsible for driving the academic and operational missions of the division. This includes education, research, and patient care within our inpatient and/or outpatient care settings.
