MFM Fellowship Program

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship program has 3 fellows and a strong academic tradition. The fellows rotate at three Kansas City hospitals and provide clinical care for high-risk patients and teaching for our residents and students. At St. Luke’s hospital, fellows are exposed to a dedicated heart disease and pregnancy clinic staffed by Cardiology and MFM. At Children’s Mercy, fellows participate in fetal surgeries. Recent graduates have pursued careers in both academic medicine and private practice.

Partnering for Healthcare Excellence

Today’s complex healthcare environment requires physicians and hospitals to work together to achieve excellence in clinical quality, patient safety, and service quality.  One of the ways we achieve that kind of partnership is by working collaboratively with local and regional doctors and facilities to ensure high-quality patient care to mother and baby.

Never Stop Learning

We offer exciting opportunities for research and academic achievement.  Our faculty lead research projects with our fellows and residents.  Several of these projects have resulted in publications in the Green Journal as well as the Grey Journal. The fellowship program is relatively new, and there are opportunities for growth and program development.
