Research Assistant Professor

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant Professor post with working experience and track record in R&D of Class III medical device (preferable in orthopaedic implants), clinical translation, including collaboration with medical device company for joint product development, Class-III medical product registration required for clinical trials.

Details of requirement:
i.    A PhD degree or equivalent in biomaterial, biomedical or biomechanical engineering, orthopaedics, or relevant disciplines.
ii.    Essential knowledge in musculoskeletal diseases and their treatment, especially in bone fracture fixation and repair, bone-tendon insertion repair and its healing enhancement, etc.
iii.    Some working experience in R&D of Class III orthopaedic implants, their regulatory registration needed for clinical trials. Experience in orthopedics company is preferred; and
iv.    Fluent writing and speaking in both English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese, or preferably both).

The appointee will be expected to (a) assist the team leader to push forward the orthopaedic R&D and clinical translation; and (b) provide service to the research team and department.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
