Director of Nuclear Cardiology Req. #R0191

The Cardiovascular Institute and the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) are seeking candidates for an academic faculty position as the Director of Nuclear Cardiology. All applicants must be board certified or eligible in Cardiology and nuclear cardiology, as well as eligible for Commonwealth of Massachusetts medical licensure. Level 3 training in echocardiography preferred. An academic teaching appointment at Harvard Medical School (HMS) will be commensurate with experience. It is anticipated this will be at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.

Responsibilities will include developing a busy outpatient consultative practice, providing in hospital consultations on the main campus, attending on the cardiology inpatient or consult services, and reading nuclear and non-invasive cardiac imaging studies. The applicant is expected to be actively engaged in teaching fellows, residents and medical students. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking to develop an academic career in consultative cardiology within a quaternary referral center model.

Director of Interventional Services Section Chief of Interventional Cardiology Req. #R0208

The Cardiovascular Institute and the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) are seeking candidates for an academic faculty position as the Director of the Interventional Services and Section Chief of Interventional Cardiology. Applicants should be highly experienced in cardiovascular interventions (coronary, structural or peripheral vascular intervention) with an established international reputation as an academic interventional cardiologist. The individual should have a track record of extramural research funding (including both public and private funding) as principal investigator, and have served as national principal investigator for cardiovascular device trials. The individual should have a demonstrated track record of successful clinical and research mentorship of trainees and junior faculty. All applicants must be board certified in Cardiology and Interventional cardiology, as well as have or be eligible for Commonwealth of Massachusetts medical licensure. It is expected that the individual would qualify for the level of Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS).

Interventional Cardiologist Req. #R0190

The Cardiovascular Institute and the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) are seeking candidates for a full-time academic faculty position in Interventional Cardiology. All applicants must be board certified or eligible in Interventional Cardiology, as well as eligible for Commonwealth of Massachusetts medical licensure. An academic teaching appointment at Harvard Medical School (HMS) will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities will include expertise in coronary and structural heart interventions, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and a commitment to academic medicine as evidenced by a track record of scholarly activity in clinical research. Candidates will be expected to contribute to the outpatient evaluation of patients as part of the multidisciplinary structural heart team, provide in hospital consultations on the main campus, and attend on the cardiology inpatient services. Expertise in structural heart procedures, particularly transcatheter aortic valve replacement, is required. The applicant is expected to be actively engaged in teaching fellows, residents and medical students, engage in clinical research activities with the interventional cardiology group, and develop a strong presence at scientific and professional society meetings. This is an excellent opportunity for an early to mid-career candidate (generally >5 years of experience as an attending physician) seeking to advance their career in interventional cardiology within an elite academic quaternary care referral center. It is anticipated that the candidate will have the qualifications to enter at the rank of Assistant or higher.
