Nurse Practitioner- EJ Cardiovascular Specialists East Jefferson General Hospital

The nurse practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse educated in a specific area of care and certified by a nationally accrediting agency. In accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, the nurse practitioner, in collaboration with the physician, provides comprehensive health assessments, determines diagnosis, and manages the health care needs of the patient. Health promotion, illness and disease prevention, management of acute and chronic illnesses are emphasized. Must have graduated from an accredited nurse practitioner program. Masters of Science in Nursing. Licensure from Louisiana State board of Nursing, Professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Certification in a specialized area by a nationally recognized accrediting agency,i.e., American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC); Current American Heart BLS required. Must have good working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding. Must possess good communication skills and people skills. Must be able to use a copier, fax machine and computer. Previous experience in Cardiology highly preferred. Must be an Acute Care NP.#Will round in hospital.Some weekend shifts.
