The Registered Nurse on our Orthopedics unit enjoys a friendly team based environment with a tenured staff. We assist in the treatment of a diverse group of Medical Surgical Ortho patients. The Registered Nurse on our unit enjoys a strong collaborative approach with a group of Nurses with a wide diversity of skills. You will enjoy a team that consistently scores high in patient satisfaction and an array of educational opportunities on our floor.

You will also perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for the Ortho Service Line.

Provider of Care:

• Determine the predictable or unpredictable health status and health needs of patients (individual and family) through interpretation of health data and preventive practice in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary health care team members.

• Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient.

Medical City Heart Hospital and Medical City Spine Hospital are destination hospitals for highly specialized advanced cardiovascular and spine care. The new state of the art facility is conveniently located near Medical City Dallas across Hwy. 75 and Forest Lane. Medical City Heart Hospital will have 63 private patient rooms and provide a wide array of cardiac services including complex vascular and heart surgery, advanced heart failure treatment, minimally invasive vascular surgery and other specialized heart care. The 24-bed Medical City Spine Hospital will provide comprehensive and coordinated spine care for common spine disorders and rare, hard-to-treat spinal deformities including adult and pediatric scoliosis, spondylolistheses, complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options among others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    ADN; BSN required within 24 months of hire
    Current TX RN license or valid compact license
    Minimum of one-year experience in acute care hospital within the last three years, required. Ortho experience preferred.
    BLS required, issued by American Heart Association
