Description:

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join our Surgical Services team in the PACU!

Full-time Day Shift (40 hours/week)
The staff RN is a registered professional nurse who assumes responsibility for patient care during the immediate postoperative period. He/she provides direct patient care involving knowledge of and the ability to use the nursing process in assessing, diagnosing, planning and evaluating patient needs to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Completes a Nursing Assessment on each PACU patient.
* Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
* Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
* Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
* Discusses with and includes patient an/or family significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
* Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
* Instructs and documents patient in follow-up care/activities in preparation for transfer/discharge.
* Evaluates the patient's/significant other's understanding of instructions.
* Gives written instructions and materials to patients and families.
* Reviews preventative health measures to patient and family. Documents understanding of instructions.
* Evaluates the effectiveness of the Nursing care.
* Documents patient teaching legibly.
* Charts precise and specific observation.
* Completes all charts/forms accurately and timely.
* Receives and gives a knowledgeable and concise patient report to others, as necessary to demonstrate awareness of patient's overall condition.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN highly preferred
* Current RN license in the State of Delaware
* Previous experience in a critical care or med-surg/tele setting preferred
* BLS Certification required; must obtain ACLS within 3 months of hire
