Therapia Staffing is partnered with multiple school districts throughout Washington State that are looking for School Nurses for the 2022-2023 school year!

School Nurse

• 2022-2023 school year
• Onsite positions only
• Full time | Monday-Friday | 37.5 Hours/Week
• Great school districts with supportive staff
• Must have a Washington State Nursing License
• Out of state LPNs and RNs and new grads are welcome to apply!

Responsibilities of a School Nurse:

• Knowledge of the principles and practices underlying professional nursing etiquette in a school environment
• Acts as a resource to the students in promoting healthy practices and supporting during times of illness or concern
• Maintains and evaluates cumulative health data to fit the individual needs of the student, in a health room setting or on a 1:1 assignment
• Must be able to assist medically fragile students that often require specialized care with tracheostomy tubes (traches), ventilation tubes (vents), gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), toileting, feeding tubes, wheel chair assistance
• Meet with other professionals to discuss Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student if needed
• Provides direct health education, and health counseling to help assist students and families in making decisions on health and lifestyles that affect health
• Organization and ability to properly document for each student's health file
• Administer first aid, medication and specialized treatment under direction for the purpose of providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured children according to District policy and procedures
• Discuss students' health needs with parents, other teachers, counselors when needed
• Must be able to provide medication in the event of a seizure
• Providing plans of care for students whom are medically fragile or require daily medications
