1 West is a 36 bed med/surg unit with a focus on cardiac, stroke, and higher-acuity medical patients. Nurses on this unit love the fun they have with their co-workers while providing a high level of specialized care.

We currently have day shift positions available, as well as per diem. All positions include weekend and holiday rotation.

Position Highlight:

$10,000 sign-on bonus potential for experienced Med/Surg nurses, who accept 30+ hour positions. (New MGH hires only. Rehires within 1 year are not eligible. Bonus is paid out in 4 increments.)

The ideal candidate will have:

Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain in a timely fashion, required

At least 1 year of RN experience preferred, new grads are welcome to apply!

Job Description:

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
