Perianesthesia Registered Nurse (RN) - Augusta, 30 hrs/wk, 1030am - 9pm

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Same Day Surgery/PACU team at Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.

The Perianesthesia RN provides direct patient care to patients in the immediate preoperative, postoperative or postprocedural period using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. This position is 30 hours per week. Available schedules are 10:30a-9p. No scheduled weekend or holiday hours. Call rotation required.

Position Highlights:

$10,000 sign-on bonus potential for nurses with at least 1 year of recent RN Perianesthesia experience (New MGH hires only. Rehires within 1 year are not eligible. Bonus is paid out in 4 increments)
Work in a state of the art facility, with a cohesive, high performing team
30+ hours is fully benefits eligible

The ideal candidate will have:

A valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, required
At least 2 years of critical care or med/surg RN work experience preferred
Preferred Certifications: ACLS/PALS
Strong assessment & IV skills
Demonstrated ability to be flexible, problem solve and utilize critical thinking skills
Dedication to on-going learning and professional development
Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Job Description:

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and provides patient education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
