Overview:
The RN Manager is accountable and responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the clinical operations of the Surgery Center, which is consistent with the established strategic plan, goals, and objectives. The RN Manager reports directly to the Executive Director, Surgery Center Cedar Rapids. The RN Manager coordinates activities routinely, as appropriate, with the Executive Director, Medical Director, Business Office Manager, and Clinical Review Committee. Responsibilities:
LeadershipBuilds trusting, collaborative relationships with staff, peers, physicians, and administration to advance the core patient business strategy.Notifies Executive Director of concerns that have the potential to escalate or lead to Risk Management concerns.May be requested to travel to conferences and meetings. Must be able to make arrangements to attend these as required.In conjunction with the Medical Director, determines clinical goals and effectively manages resources to achieve the goals.Maintains a collegial relationship with physicians to ensure quality patient care. In cooperation with the Medical Director, is responsible for quality improvement.Serves as a liaison between the Surgery Center, local hospitals, and the community.Professional Development of Team MembersFosters development of unit leadership team.Ensures a thorough and adequate orientation program for new staff.Ensures the adequate competency training and continuing education programming is done to meet identified staff development needs.Supports department and hospital shared governance infrastructure and staff engagement.Supports continuous staff development and career goal achievement.Business ResponsibilityResponsible for department scheduling. Applies HR practices fairly and consistently.Follows-up on patient concerns as soon as possible.Hardwires patient rounding to assure consistent contact with patients. Maintains an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies.

Qualifications:
Successful completion from an accredited registered nursing programBachelor's Degree in any fieldThree to five years of clinical leadership with recognized knowledge and expertise in caring for specific patient populationsPossess current RN licensure in the State of IowaMaintain current BLS certification
