Practice Description:
Fairview Health Services is seeking an Ortho Surgical Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical care at M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center. The Ortho Surgical Nurse Practitioner is a member of the health care team who works with the supervision of licensed surgeons to provide comprehensive health care services to patients. The Ortho Surgical Nurse Practitioner engages in independent decision making about health care needs and provides health care services to individuals throughout the stages of their surgical experience. Provides pre-operative and post-operative physical and psychological health assessments, provides patient education and counseling, orders and interprets diagnostic procedures, assists surgeons in major and minor procedures, and works as part of a team in the inpatient and outpatient setting to ensure ongoing management of chronic disease conditions. Nurse Practitioners also perform minor surgical procedures within their scope and realm of their practice agreement with their supervising physician. Practice Details:Work in a team with four surgeonsCasual shifts, work on an as need basisShift length 8 hours, typically between 7a-5pmFully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)
Qualifications:
Graduate of a school or nursing and accredited Nurse Practitioner training programBC/BE through the AANP or ANCCLicensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of NursingAbility to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges (if required)Ortho experience preferred
