Overview:
The RN - Nursing Professional Development (NPD) 3 - Program Coordinator works collaboratively with leadership and the Office of Professional Practice to drive key nursing professional development programs designed to elevate practice across UofL Health. This Coordinator works dynamically, collaboratively and inter-professionally to be responsive to professional development needs across the system, supporting the highest standards of quality and safety in patient care and nursing practice with resultant improved patient outcomes. This position ensures that professional development programs are facilitated by appropriately prepared educational professionals using evidence based best practices, including technology, to meet the needs of nursing staff and interdisciplinary partners in order to accomplish organizational, facility and Office of Professional Practice strategic goals. The NPD 3 actively participates in quality improvement (QI), EBP, and nursing research processes across the system. The NPD 3 supports the core behaviors, standards, values, and missions of the organization, accrediting bodies, and profession of nursing as a professional role model.
Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program (required)Master's degree in nursing, leadership, or education (required)DNP, PhD or EdD (preferred)Experience: Minimum of five (5) years as a Registered Nurse in area of clinical specialty (required)Minimum of two (2) years' experience in education, teaching or professional development (required)Licensure:Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)Certification: Professional nursing certification in professional development, leadership or education (required)American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider (required)Professional nursing certification (ANCC Recognized) in clinical specialty (preferred)
