Responsibilities:
Position highlightsOutpatient; General cardiology in our Federal Way clinic. Three days per week. Inpatient; downtown Seattle hospital. One day per week. Monday-Friday plus rotating Saturday call. Approx once every 10 weeks.10 hour shifts. Team Details The VMMC Heart Institute includes Cardiology and associated subspecialties, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiac Diagnostic Testing, and Cardiac Rehab. We have 31 providers across the institute, including 14 MDs, 14 APPs, and 3 PharmDs. Our APP support falls into 3 different areas. Inpatient and Outpatient General Cardiology support, Electrophysiology support, and Cardiothoracic Surgery support. Inpatient and Outpatient Cardiology support is comprised of 5 APPs and supports the inpatient cardiology service as well as outpatient general cardiology. Our heart specialists are recognized nationally in the treatment for heart failure and heart attack and have cardiac surgery outcomes that are in the top 10 percent in the nation. At the same time, we are national leaders in providing appropriate care.

Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner:1+ years advanced practice work experienceWashington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job.Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority.Advanced background in nursing; an understanding of anatomy, physiology, histology, and pharmacology; and strong interpersonal and counseling skills.Certification by specialty area as well as work experience in specialty area may be required, depending on the position.ACLS requiredBLS required OR Physician Assistant-C:1+ years advanced practice work experienceThis position requires Certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington.ACLS requiredBLS required About Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Our integrated health system has nearly 1,500 hospital beds including Bailey-Boushay House, the first skilled-nursing and outpatient chronic care management program in the United States designed specifically to meet the needs of people with HIV/AIDS; Benaroya Research Institute, internationally recognized for autoimmune disease research; and Virginia Mason Institute, a teaching organization which coaches health care professionals and others around the world in the Virginia Mason Production System, an innovative lean management method for improving quality and safety.
