Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work with the Director of Therapeutic Endoscopy and the Director of the Comprehensive Pancreas Center on all aspects of patient care including evaluation, diagnosis and education. The role predominately works in the outpatient setting. The candidate must be able to work independently in a clinical setting. New grads are encouraged to apply. Experience in a gastroenterology practice and/or surgical practice is preferred. Mentoring will be provided to be able to understand the management these patients. Must be willing to travel to off sites. No on-call is required.Job Duties Include but are not limited to:Managing patient flow effectively and efficientlyTriaging patient calls and accurately assesses patient needs. Accurately documenting all correspondence with patientProviding treatment and patient care under the supervision of physicianCommunicating effectively and efficiently with patients and their familiesCompleting disability paperwork in a manner consistent with office proceduresDictating concise and compete medical records utilizing the departmental dictation formatAssisting in the care and management of inpatients under the supervision of physicianSalary commensurate with experience

Qualifications:
Must have completed a certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.License Requirements: Maryland PA License, Maryland NP CertificationCertification Requirements: NCCPA, ANCC/AANRequired Healthcare Provider Level CPRMust be computer literate or learn within 6 months.Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
