The Division of Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent, or Ph.D. or M.D.(or equivalent)/Ph.D. degree.

The Division Chief reports to the Chair of the Department and works closely with the other Division Chiefs, the Associate Chairs, and the Vice Chair in the Department of Pediatrics. The Division Chief will oversee the clinical, research, and educational activities of the Division, lead recruiting efforts in the Division, and ensure career mentoring for all faculty and fellows in the Division.

The Division of Nephrology includes inpatient and outpatient clinical programs in General Nephrology, Transplant, Dialysis, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and a number of multidisciplinary clinics, including in kidney stone disease, glomerular disease, kidney involvement in cancer survivors, Lupus, and Liver-Kidney clinic. The Division of Nephrology is comprised of 14 faculty and physicians with diverse clinical and investigative interests, 9 fellows, and over 60 staff members.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the division of Nephrology.

Clinical responsibilities may include seeing and treating patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical and translational research focusing on observational studies of CKD and transplant, clinical trials, epidemiology, imaging research in kidney disease, studies of Acute Kidney Injury in the ICU, and post bone marrow transplant.
