Description: The Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics offers the advanced student a balanced curriculum in both didactic and clinical areas. The program is administered by the Department of Developmental Dentistry and is approved and accredited by the ADA Council of Dental Education. The Orthodontic Advanced Education Director is responsible to direct all aspects of the Advanced Education in Orthodontics Program and to work with the Pre-doctoral Program Director in a collaborative manner.

Duties: Duties for this position include didactic and clinical teaching in the Advanced Program in Orthodontics.   The Program Director will provide long-term continuity to service and duties important to the departmental teaching mission by developing, revising, and implementing curriculum based on best practices.  The goal of Board Certification by all graduating students will be pursued through curriculum, including didactic and clinical education.  Scheduling of advanced education students in Orthodontics, as well as faculty will be overseen by the Program Director.  Authorization for student leave and student educational travel will also fall under the supervision of the Program Director.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a DDS or DMD degree, have completed an ADA accredited advanced educational program in Orthodontics, be eligible or certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, and be eligible for a Texas Dental License.  The UT Health Science Center San Antonio may conduct background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer.
