Registered Nurse RN, Surgery OR, Full Time, Days

The BSA Surgery department consists of 16-multi-purpose suites and 2-cystoscopy suites operated on a 24-hr basis with approximately 50-surgeons. The most frequent surgeries are: General Surgery, Orthopedic, Vascular, Urology, Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, ENT, Gynecology, Plastics, Robotics and Bariatric; 12,700 surgeries annually.

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse is accountable for the health status and health needs of their patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with the patients and the interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
Qualifications
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Current License as RN in the State of Texas
American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Previous experience as an Operating Room Circulator or Scrub RN preferred
Knowledge of AORN standards desired
Minimum of 2 years previous acute care staff RN nursing experience
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Assess, plan, evaluates, documents total nursing process
Organized, self-motivated with exceptional follow-through skills
Computer skills necessary; EMR and Soarian documentation
Multi-task constantly and tolerate multiple interruptions
Clear and effective communication with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare professionals
Compassionate customer service skills
Committed to patient and family satisfaction
