The Division of Nephrology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine (Hershey, PA) is seeking a Clinical Investigator/Scientist to join an expanding Division of Nephrology. A highly competitive departmental and institutional start-up package will supplement the candidate’s extramural support to strengthen and expand the candidate’s ongoing research with the goal of developing novel scholarly initiatives within the division and the institution in the field of renal disease. Joint appointments in basic science departments are anticipated.

The Harrisburg-Hershey area includes the state capitol, a population of 500,000 and offers an excellent combination of low cost of living, excellent schools, cultural activities and attractions that bring millions of visitors each year. Nearby airports and Amtrak stations along with close proximity to major interstates make living in Central Pennsylvania convenient and fulfilling from both professional and personal perspectives. We’re conveniently located within a short distance to major cities such as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, NYC, Baltimore, and Washington DC.

Appropriate candidates must possess:

  • MD, MD/PhD or foreign equivalent;
  • US Board certification – Nephrology;
  • Current NIH funding for research initiatives;
  • Academic work experience;
  • Ability to obtain a medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
