Responsibilities

Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our established Trauma Acute Care Surgery group at Wellstar North Fulton in Roswell/Alpharetta, just north of Atlanta, GA. The group is comprised of 4 physicians and 1 PA, and they are responsible for all aspects of the Trauma Acute Care service at North Fulton. The physician assistant will be responsible for responding to trauma activations, fielding phone calls from practice patients, calls from the floor and ED, first asissting in the OR, seeing trauma and surgery patients in the ICU and doing bedside procedures both in the trauma bay and the ICU. Schedule will involve approximately 3 shifts per week or 6 shifts per two weeks including 1-2 Sunday night shifts and/or 1-2 weekend shifts per month working dedicated NIGHTS. PAs and residents share 1st call for trauma and acute care surgery for the group.

Provides healthcare services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a physician. Performing comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical examinations, interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develop a treatment plan within the scope of practice and in conjunction with the physician. Exercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising physician or other healthcare professional.
