RN/Flex Staff Nurse - Radiation Oncology

RN / Flex Staff Nurse Radiology Oncology UnitOur team is searching for a dynamic Registered Nurse to join the interdisciplinary team performing patient care at our Radiation Oncology Unit.The Radiation Oncology department is an outpatient unit that provides care, evaluation, treatment, and education for cancer patients needing radiation therapy. The department houses two linear accelerators providing Photon/Electron treatment capabilities, as well as Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Prostate Seed Implants andintensity modulated radiation therapy. The department also utilizes a CT Simulator.Ideal candidate will have good communication skills, knowledge of cancer patients, computer skills, IV, blood draws and medical documentation skills. Works directly with the case load of one of the radiation oncologist. May be assigned other duties as needed.Completion of the Chemotherapy/Biotherapy ONS course within six months of hire required

Responsibilities:
The Registered Clinical Nurse (RN) is fundamental in achieving recognized world-class health care. Assumes direct and indirect responsibility for the patient's care environment. The primary responsibility is providing care through collaboration with health care team members and the autonomous application of the nursing process. Also provides leadership, mentoring and role modeling for other members of the health care team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination and delegation of care in a safe, secure and clean environment. Care provided displays respect for the patients rights, dignity, values, confidentiality and expressed needs. Adaptable, using evidenced based practice and information technologies while maintaining focus on providing comfort, relieving pain and alleviating anxiety. Qualifications:
