Chief of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology

 

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University seeks an MD/DO/or foreign equivalent, board certified or equivalent anesthesiologist and eligible for a California license or exemption to join the Department as Chief of the Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology, with appointment as Associate Professor or Professor in the Medical Center Line, the University Tenure Line, or the Clinician Educator Line.

• The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

• The predominant criteria for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching.

• The major criteria for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have demonstrated leadership relevant to the field of cardiothoracic anesthesia.

We expect the successful candidate to have developed an academic program relevant to cardiothoracic anesthesia and to collaborate with other departments in the medical school.

The successful applicant will spend a portion of time in clinical cardiothoracic anesthesia.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have board certification or equivalent in anesthesiology and have the training and experience to successfully develop an academic program relevant to the field of cardiothoracic anesthesia.
