Occ Summary
Independently plan and provide professional nursi ng care for patients inaccordance with physician orders and established policies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients and familie s inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.Nurses hired into this limited benefited classification will commit towork a minimum number of hours in a designated inpatient nursingdepartment. Compensation is a flat rate that is based on years of experience.

Work Performed
Plan, provide, supervise a nd document professional nursing careutilizing the nursing process for p atients in accordance with physicianorders and established policies and procedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize the plan o f care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and response t o care.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a group of pa tients or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate corrective acti on to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and material r esources.Participate in own professional development by maintaining requ iredcompetencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassi stance or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the develop ment of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and in performance improvement activities.Perform other related duties incident al to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.

Experience
2 years of appropriate clinical experience required

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
