Progressive Emergency Physicians has an excellent opportunity for an employed full-time Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join our Emergency Medicine Physician team at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. We are seeking must be board-certified or board eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician.

Our Facility

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, is a 537-bed (including 100 nursing home beds), not-for-profit hospital serving the communities on the south shore of Long Island in West Islip, New York. Good Samaritan s high-quality medical services extend across the continuum of care to all disciplines, both for inpatients and outpatients. Good Samaritan is one of the largest providers of emergency services on Long Island. The Ambulatory Surgery Department, where patients have same-day procedures, treats an average of almost 300 patients each week. More than 26,000 patients a year are admitted for inpatient services. Pediatric patients are treated in the pediatric emergency department and, if necessary, admitted to the Pediatric Unit or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Pediatric sub-specialists are available around the clock to support these medical services.

Our Emergency Department

The emergency department evaluates and treats patients presenting with all types of emergencies, 24 hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. It the only Verified Level II Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients on the south shore of Long Island. The emergency medicine clinical team works collaboratively with the in-hospital Trauma Team to provide immediate trauma care to all patients presenting with a traumatic injury. The emergency department also provides immediate access to a 24-7 cardiac percutaneous coronary intervention team and is a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The emergency department's staff includes physicians, nurses, and physician assistants who are trained and experienced in responding to emergent medical problems in patients of all ages. Approximately 90,000 injured or ill adult and pediatric patients are treated every year in the emergency department.
