NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County , located in the heart of Brooklyn, accommodate more than 518,076 outpatient visits, more than 141,328 emergency room visits, and with 627 beds, more than 25,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities:
The attending psychiatrist is the clinical lead of the outpatient team and is responsible for all aspects of patient care on the team, including safety and quality.
  • Provide direct care to patients assigned to the outpatient team, including appropriate and timeley care and documentation
  • Complete admission assessment with a focus on comprehensive risk assessment for all new intakes and re-assessment of patients in a timely fashion consistent with policy
  • Conduct appropriate outreach and relevant documentation and relevant documentation as per policy
  • Complete treatment plan documentation consistent with policy and appropriate to patients risk level
  • Participate and conduct inter-disciplinary team meetings as per the standard of work and policy
  • Participate and provider leadership in outpatient behavioral codes
  • Participate in medical codes in the clinic until the Code Team arrives
  • Work with all teams to help patient move through appropriate level of care
  • Consideration of refferals to community resources like AOT, ACT, etc
  • Collaborate and coordinate with primary care and other medical specialists
  • Involve in training and supervision of students/residents
Qualifications:
  • Must be board eligible or board certified in Psychiatry
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine
  • Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required prior to hire

Annual Base Salary Range: $236,900 (board eligible) - $247,200 (board certified)
