What we need:

The Product Development Technician produce pre-press screen printing films, develop sample designs, create and distribute production samples, and manage the central resource for customer assortment information and communication.

What you'll do:
  • Production Film Operations: Convert floor mat designs to pre-press production film in order to precisely transfer images during the screen printing process; Determine number of required films as well as film layout depending on behavior of colors present in designs.
  • Design: Modify existing floor mat designs based on customer demands in order to acquire customer approval; fulfill design requests increasing in complexity as experience and development opportunities allow.
  • Samples: Manage floor mat sample inventory; Manually develop floor mat samples using complex construction techniques and highly detail oriented manipulation of raw materials; Ship production samples of floor mat designs to various business managers and showroom locations for customer presentations.
  • Customer Assortment Catalog: Make frequent additions and updates to the catalog of current customer assortments, including modifications to customer demands and other relevant communication documents pertaining to the accurate fulfillment of all customer expectations in an effort to maintain a trusted source of product offerings information for all key stakeholders.
  • Process Innovation: Develop educated recommendations for process improvement initiatives that will provide greater efficiency and/or cost savings to the company.


What you have:
  • Required Bachelors in Fine Arts or related concentration
  • Required experience in printing practices, especially screenprinting
  • Preferred experience in surface or textile design and associated systems
  • Required knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Preferred knowledge of color and design theory
  • Skills: Describe the specific skills required for this position in terms

  • Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Design Analysis: Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.
  • Systems Analysis: Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
