- MD
- Completed Obstetrics Residency
- BE/BC
- Call Schedule 6-8 times per month.
- Clinical, Surgery – Lecture/Teaching when not seeing patients.
- The Assistant/Associate Professor – Generalist accepts the responsibility of providing leadership and maintaining administrative operations of the department in addition to performing the traditional academic duties of teaching, research, and service.
- The Assistant/Associate Professor – Generalist reports to the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Ability to work collaboratively with the leadership of other academic and administrative units to develop appropriate policies and/or programs.
- Ability to promote student success and faculty excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Participates in college/university governance committees/task forces and search committees.
- Participates in outside committees and task forces.
RESPONSIBILIITES:
The Assistant/Associate Professor – Generalist accepts responsibility for the following functions, as determined in conjunction with the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology:
- To maintain a collegial, scholarly, department environment that supports and encourages faculty excellence in the traditional academic areas of teaching, research, and service.
- Provides mentoring and professional development of other faculty and staff.
- Promotes the well-being of students, faculty, and staff.
- Provides feedback and performance evaluation of other faculty and staff.
- Serves as an advocate for department interests.
- Creates a positive and productive work environment for support personnel.
- Provides leadership for curricular development, planning, revision, evaluation, and implementation.
- Maintaining up-to-date academic programs, academic standards, and program-related goals and outcomes.
- Assessing and providing development in the areas of curriculum development, modes of teaching, student learning, etc.
- Coordinating academic offerings to provide programs that are pedagogically sound for all formats or modes of delivery.
- Scheduling courses that meet student needs and make appropriate use of faculty expertise.
- Implementing specific methods of improving instruction.
- Encouraging interfacing of programs and other academic departments.
- Participates on dissertation, thesis, or capstone committees.
- Participates in recruiting high-quality students. Engages in scholarly activity.

- Competed Obstetrics Residency
- BE/BC Meets eligibility for tenure.
- Covers labor and delivery, emergency room and inpatient.
- The standard average range is 6-8/24-hour shifts each month.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant/Associate Professor – Hospitalist accepts responsibility for the following functions, as determined in conjunction with the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology:
- The Assistant/Associate Professor – Hospitalist accepts the responsibility of providing hospital coverage as attending physician for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Teaching, research, and service.
- In hospital supervision and education of the resident physicians and students. Be in attendance for all resident performed procedures during their shifts.
- Supervision of care of triage patients will be expected to allow for compensation for these visits.
- Evaluations of students and resident physicians will be performed on an ongoing basis.
- Clinical education in the form of didactic lectures, informal discussions, and precepting is expected.
- The Assistant/Associate Professor – Hospitalists reports to the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Knowledge of accreditation policies where appropriate. Ability to work collaboratively with the leadership of other academic and administrative units to develop appropriate policies and/or programs.
- Promote student success and faculty excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Provides mentoring and professional development of other faculty and staff. Identifies/determines faculty roles, priorities, and assignments.
- Provides feedback and performance evaluation of other faculty and staff.
- Serves as an advocate for department interests.
- Provides leadership for curricular development, planning, revision, evaluation, and implementation.
- Maintaining up-to-date academic programs, academic standards, and program-related goals and outcomes.
- Aligning curriculum with national standards for discipline or specialization with a discipline.
- Assessing and providing development in the areas of curriculum development, modes of teaching, student learning, etc.
- Coordinating academic offerings to provide programs that are pedagogically sound for all formats or modes of delivery.
SALARY: 75TH Percentile AAMC, Health Benefits, Retirement, Signing Bonus
