Cardiovascular Surgeon - Junior Rank

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the
University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor
position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in
the specific area of adult cardiac surgery with a focus on complex coronary
revascularization. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent
degree.They must also be certified by theAmerican Board of Thoracic Surgery
or eligible for such certification.

Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students and
surgical residents. Clinical responsibilities may include supporting the
multidisciplinary coronary artery disease and valve programs, in- and outpatient care of patients with coronary artery and valvular heart disease, and all other aspects of adult cardiac surgery including heart failure, shock and thoracic aortic disease. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include pursuit of clinical and/or basic science research related to cardiac surgery.

The successful candidate will be a member of Penn’s Division of
Cardiovascular Surgery and will practice primarily at Penn Presbyterian
Medical Center, a full member of the University of Pennsylvania Health
System. He or she will partner with a highly accomplished group of
consultative and interventional cardiologists.
