The Inpatient Neurology Unit consists of 46 beds and a PCT to Patient ratio of 1:10 Max.

Join our team of highly skilled & dedicated associates in our Inpatient Neurology unit. Our associates provide excellent, compassionate care for our patients as well as each other. Our associates are flexible, hardworking, genuine, and great critical thinkers. The Inpatient Neurology Unit is active in Progressive Medical and Surgical patient care. Our PCTs work side by side with nurses to provide care to a highly acute population of neurological and neurosurgical patients in a fast-paced environment. Majority of the patients arrive through the Emergency Department or as a stepdown from our Trauma Neuro Intensive Care Unit.
Highlights for the Inpatient Neurology unit include:

* Certified Stroke Center of Excellence
* Stroke champions - 2 associates who are out of staffing 2 days a week to help with stroke compliance, and patient/staff education
* Monthly Mentor meetings
* Recognition for associate of the month and Standards Star of the Month
* Our staff takes care of each other in and outside of work. We have had people go through tough times/situations and have been able to provide them with assistance even if it's just getting some groceries for a week.
* We have a Stroke Volunteer that was one of our patients who had a pretty significant stroke and now he comes to talk to our stroke patients (doing video calls currently due to COVID) to give them hope for their recovery.

Patients we serve:
Medical: Stroke, TIA, Seizure, Trauma Injuries, MS, Myasthenia Gravis, and GB
Surgical: Intrathecal Test Dose/ Pump, Aneurysm Repairs, Craniotomy, and Laminectomy/Discectomy
Ascension St. Vincent Inpatient Neurology unit is located at 2001 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260 is hiring Full-Time , Day Shift - PCT - 7:00AM - 7:30PM, Sunday Saturday; Shifts are 12 hours.

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

Responsibilities:

* Aid with movement and placement of patients.
* Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
* Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.
* Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.

What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:

* BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

* High school diploma or GED required
