About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Emergency Room **Job Specialty:** Emergency Department **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour Variable **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred; exceptions considered with additional experience **License:** Registered Nurse **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS required; CPI or MAB/MOAB preferred **Must-Have:** EPIC charting system experience **Job Description:** - Provide care in a busy Level 2 trauma center, managing a heavy trauma population. - Handle a diverse range of patients, from neonates to geriatrics, including those with sepsis, DKA, respiratory illnesses, and GI bleeds. - Participate in the care of stroke patients as part of a Complete Stroke Center. - Take part in the care of sexual assault patients, including evidence collection, supported by a quality coordinator and resource booklet. - Work effectively in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit environment when needed. - Manage cardiac patients and collaborate with a cardiac catheter lab team. - Perform triage, utilizing critical thinking to prioritize patient care based on ESI assessments. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including day and night shift charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and physicians. - Be adaptable to floating to inpatient Med/Surg, PCU, or ICU areas when required within the scope of practice. - Participate in orientation and ongoing education specific to emergency department protocols. - Flexible scheduling to accommodate staffing needs, with potential weekend shifts. This position requires a dedicated professional ready to excel in a fast-paced environment while ensuring high-quality patient care.
