Surgical Physician Assistant

Urgent need for Surgical NP/PA for Elizabeth, New Jersey Location

Job Details:

PA with Surgical experience or NP. If NP, they do not need RNFA certificate, but they must have a surgical background. ACLS and BLS required!
NJ License and DEA and CDS current
Specialty: Surgery- MUST have surgical background
Weekend coverage is in-house
NPs can first assist if they have their RNFA certificate, also some NP programs if they are surgical NP have assisting competency as part of their program
Anticipated procedures/surgeries the provider will be required to perform and anticipated volumes: General, vascular, thoracic surgical procedures as first assist. Anticipated volume per day 3-8 procedures
Description of Work Assignment Initial consults for surgery, follow ups for consults, bedside procedures, OR procedures, and post op follow ups.
Breakdown of Clinic Days/Sessions and/or OR Days: No outpatient work
Schedule of Days/Times Needed to Work/ Shift Hours: 7a,-7pm or 7pm-7am
On call? No but optional
Patient Load: 3-15 patient encounters per day
Board Status Requirement (BC/BE): Must be board certified
Is there additional support staff? No
Is the provider working solo or with other providers? If so, whom? Collaborating surgeon. We have 6-7 General surgeons., 4 vascular surgeons at the moment, and 1-2 Thoracic surgeons.
Trauma Level of Work Location Not a trauma center
EMR System? Allscripts sunrise clinical manager
Is the Clinic EMR Different from the Hospital EMR? There is no clinic
